The IP protection level is composed of two numbers. The first number indicates the level of the lamp against dust and foreign objects intrusion; the second number indicates the degree of airtightness of the lamp against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection level.
- Dustproof, completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects. Although it cannot completely prevent dust intrusion, the amount of intruded dust does not affect the normal operation of the lamp IP5XPrevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 50mm, and prevent the human body (such as the palm) from accidentally touching the internal parts of the lamp. Protection against intrusion of foreign objects of larger size (diameter greater than 50mm) IP1X
- Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 12mm, and prevent people’s fingers from touching the internal parts of the lamp. Protection against intrusion of foreign objects of medium size (diameter greater than 12mm, length greater than 80mm) IP2X
- Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 2.5mm, and prevent the intrusion of tools, wires or similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness larger than 2.5mm and contact with the internal parts of the lamp IP3X
- Prevent the intrusion of solid objects greater than 1.0mm, and prevent the intrusion of tools, wires or similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 1.0mm and contact with the internal parts of the lamp IP4X
- Dustproof, completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects. Although it cannot completely prevent dust intrusion, the amount of intruded dust does not affect the normal operation of the lamp IP5X
- Dust tightness Completely prevent foreign objects from entering, and can completely prevent dust from entering IP6X.
The second number indicates protection against harmful effects of water ingress, i.e. water resistance class 0: no protection
- Vertical dripping (water dripping to the shell has no effect)
- Water dripping at an inclination angle of 75-90 degrees (when the shell is tilted at a maximum of 15 degrees, the water droplets have no effect on the shell)
- Sprinkle with water
- Splashing water (liquid splashing on the shell from any direction has no damage effect)
- Water spray (no damage to rinse with water)
- Violent spray of water
- Immersion in water for a short time (1m)
